Post/Job Title : Consultant role who will act as Chief Operating Officer
J ob Purpose : Planning, executing, monitoring public policy research, training, outreach and publication
Reporting to : Chairperson – CPP
Job Type : Hired under Centre for Public Policy
Duration : Two years from Date of Joining
Will closely work with
· Internal – CPP team, IIMB communications, IIMB internal departments.
· External – Central and State government Officials, International developmental organization, Civil Society and Foundations
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
· Interact with Central/State Ministry Officials/ International organization/Foundations to identify, design, and formulate public policy research, training, and consulting opportunities.
· Write research grants and pursue funding opportunities in government and international organization.
· Develop deep relationships with international organization on Public Policy research, training, and consulting opportunities.
· Build and manage a team of research associates and scientists and deliver on consulting projects.
· Produce white papers, case studies, and research articles in concert with faculty that can be used in teaching and research at IIM-B
· Work with IIM-B and international faculty to develop online courses to foster education in the supply chain domain in collaboration with industry and IIMB Centre of Digital Learning
· Work with CPP Chair to design and develop certificate programs in Public Policy and Management.
· Organize conferences, CPP networking events, and other scholastic avenues for dissemination of information and knowledge.
Key Skills and Ability Required
Specifically, the successful candidate will be required to understand the mission and vision of CPP, formulate strategic and tactical goals to enable this vision, generate revenue through research grants and consulting activities, build and manage a team of research associates and scientists; execute research, development, and consulting activities; facilitate faculty buy-in for teaching/research activities; organize conferences and events; drive partnerships with other Public Policy (domestic and international) organizations; be the focal point of contact with industry/government partners; and overall be responsible for growth of the Center. To succeed in this role, along with significant experience in the Public Policy domain, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills; be self-motivated; understand an academic environment and its collaborative role with industry; maintain detailed records and business reporting scorecards; and be a detail-oriented person.
