Job description
Managing Hematology and Clinical Pathology department with respect to quality reporting of samples; manpower, material and equipment management and create a healthy environment for quality of service to be delivered.
- Reviewing slides and reports in Hematology and Clinical Pathology sections.
- Review of reports for Biochemistry, Immunoassays and Serology sections in coordination with Biochemist and Microbiologists respectively
- Ensuring turnaround time of laboratory testsÂ
- Making standard operating procedures for testsÂ
- Conducting training sessions/ seminars for staffÂ
- Monitoring compliance of staff with the laboratory safety normsÂ
- Query resolution on test reports and interaction with clinicians.
- Monitoring actual consumption of stocks versus the number of tests performed.
- To oversee equipment maintenance and the new instrument installation.Â
- Ensuring competitive material cost of tests through effective management of materials and resources.
- Review effective and rational utilization of kits and equipment
- Review of all Quality Control data in order to ensure quality reportsÂ
- Review of IQAP, EQAS resultsÂ
- Reviewing Validation data of kits prior to utilization at the laboratory benchÂ
- Presenting the departments for Audits as and when necessaryÂ
- Instituting timely corrective actions for sub-optimal proficiency test results as well as any non-conformances raised during the auditsÂ
- Staff rotation to decrease intellectual fatigueÂ
- Interpersonal relationship management to tackle unpleasant situationsÂ
- Conduct periodic Competency checks and yearly performance appraisals of the technical staffÂ
- Conducting interviews for new recruitments
