Job description

We are looking for a database administrator who will ensure that our databases are always available to provide optimal service to our users. This will include testing and monitoring in addition to typical maintenance tasks.

Job Responsibilities :Â

• Install, migrate, and upgrade SQL Server and Oracle environments.Â

• Monitor backups and test restoration of databases.Â

• Monitor space, availability, and performance of the database platforms.Â

• Maintain Oracle and SQL Server system security, including patch management.Â

• Work closely with the development team to optimize queries, job schedules, and release management.Â

• Maintain documentation related to the database configuration, data flow, replication, data transformation, and DB architecture.Â

• Forecast storage and resource requirements for the database systems.Â

• Refresh user acceptance testing (UAT), development, and other environments when necessary.Â

• Evaluate SQL server/Oracle features and related products for improved efficiencies.Â

• Implement database best practices and monitor configuration hardening compliance.Â

• Implement CIS Settings for Database Security and Hardening as per industry standard.Â

• Implement database Monitoring and Reporting for daily health checks.Â

• Database Migration – Side by Side and Inplace Upgrade.

• Expertise in Database Maintenance Plan Wizard, creating, and scheduling Maintenance Jobs.Â

• Capability to implement database Monitoring and Reporting for daily health checks.Â

• Hands-on experience in implementing disaster recovery solutions Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, Always Availability, and Clusters.Â

• Knowledge of SQL Server Profiler to monitor and record database activities of users and applications.Â

• Knowledge of Index tuning wizard to redesign and create the indexes for better performance.Â

• Applying Security Patches and /or Hotfixes.Â

• Vulnerability Remediation of SQL Server issue.Â

• Knowledge to ensure database consistency through DBCC Commands.

• Above average knowledge of Networking concepts and Protocols.Â

• Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis for repetitive issues.Â

Qualifications/Skills Required :Â

• Primary Skills – DBA: 6- 8 Years (L3) and 3- 5 Years (L2).

• Secondary Skills – Oracle DB: 2 – 3 years.

• Strong experience with SQL databases and related database technologies.

• Proficiency with SQL queries.

• Knowledge of database design and best practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database and application issues.Â

• Experience implementing and managing databases for client applications.Â

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills (Written/Verbal).

• Exceptional customer service orientation.

• Disciplined, systematic problem-solving skills required.

Educational requirement :Â

• Graduate and preferably BCA or any other Technical Field.
