Job Title: Utility Electrical Technician

Department: Electrical Maintenance / Operations

Location: Trichy

Reports To: Electrical Maintenance Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary:

As a Utility Electrical Technician, you are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of various electrical systems and components. This includes chillers, compressors, cooling towers, AHU, AC systems, Nitrogen storage units, HSD systems, cranes, fans, pumps, motors, LT/HT DG, substations, switchyards, PDB, and breakers. Your role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical operations within the utility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical System Maintenance and Repair:
   

   • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems and components to ensure optimal performance.
     
   • Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions to maintain system reliability.
     

2. System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
   

   • Monitor the performance of electrical systems, taking periodic readings and adjusting controls to ensure proper operation.
     
   • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or unexpected breakdowns, minimizing downtime and restoring functionality.
     

3. Safety and Compliance:
   

   • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during electrical operations.
     
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and environmental standards related to electrical systems.
     

4. Record Keeping and Reporting:
   

   • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system performance.
     
   • Prepare and submit regular reports detailing the status of electrical systems and any maintenance or operational issues.
     

5. Collaboration and Communication:
   

   • Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and external contractors to ensure smooth functioning of electrical systems.
     
   • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments regarding electrical maintenance needs and system status.
     

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical maintenance is preferred.
  
• Proven experience as a Utility Electrical Technician or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing the specified electrical systems and components.
  
• Familiarity with electrical maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety standards.
