Job description
Training Superintendent will be reporting to HSEQ Head.
Minimum Experience:-2 years' experience in a senior management position on board and 1-year experience in a similar rank in shore-based position
Minimum Qualification:- Master Certificate of Competency
The Training Superintendent is responsible for:
• Learning and development (L&D) of seafarers and shore personnel in line with company and industry requirements
• Identify learning and development needs and courses and streamline existing training programs
• Collaborate and work with preferred maritime training institutes in preparation and delivery of various training courses
• Overseeing cadet / TME recruitment and mentoring
• Preparing the training budget for the local office fleet
The Training Superintendent is accountable for:
• Monitoring the quality and content of training provided by external training service providers including the training arranged by manning agents
• Monitoring performance recommendations for individual seafarers and ensuring that these are closed out by appropriate training
• Monitor effectiveness of training programs periodically and make changes as appropriate
• Compliance with training matrices
• Training budget
Tasks shall include but not be limited to:
• Reviewing training programs to enhance seafarer and shore staff competence in line with the company's
personnel management system.
• Collaborate and develop innovative training programs to meet company and industry requirements
• Engaging group training teams & manning agents with respect to training matters
• Oversee the effective rollout, training and implementation on board of the role-based bridge system
• Prepare the training budget for the fleet
• Approving invoices, bills and reimbursement claims pertaining to his/her field of responsibility
• Projecting training berth requirements and providing inputs for personnel management policies
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by the department head
