ASME is founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society.

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Community & Business Development professional to lead efforts in expanding the reach within and nurture the technical and engineering community in Energy Sectors – Fossil Fuel based & Clean Energy sectors . This role involves building Key account relationships and developing professional development focused engagement opportunities, for engineering Professionals.

Identify new volunteer resources with a primary focus on Technical Groups participation.

Results-driven business development to lead efforts in expanding the reach within and nurture the technical and engineering communities’ initiatives such as conferences and Workshops – Author , speaker acquisition, Sponsor acquisition and Delegates Acquisition

Identify and convert cross selling opportunities for ASME Learning & Development programs -In-company or public programs run by Authorized Training providers ( ATPs) of ASME .

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Partnership Development Plan, conduct and/or supervises primary and secondary research in Advanced Manufacturing ,

Aerospace ,

Bio Med manufacturing . Volunteer network development & engagement through outreach and interaction with the Leading organizations in these domains using existing network, participation and representation at relevant sector events organized by other associations and social networking.

Community Engagement: Identify , Inspire , engage passionate engineers in Advanced & Hi Tech Manufacturing sectors to volunteer for the technical advancement and professional development goals alignment with society’s objectives and in consultation with the Strategic Planning Cell. Manage Development, planning and execution of Group initiatives as per identified , measurable impact goals. Source & acquire Subject matter experts for Development of continuing education & learning content.

Sales and Business development Overall responsible for driving and achieving revenue goals for TEC & L&D initiatives through Industry sponsorships and participant/delegate Acquisitions

in Advanced/Hi-tech Manufacturing

Sectors. Generating pipeline of Enquiries, Proposals and orders. Identification, Development and Management of Key Accounts for Sales growth for training & Development & other products. Conduct Policy, Business and Market due diligence to provide regular field information on changing or emerging market needs from time to time for new product introduction. Implement a consultative solution selling approach.

Revenue Generation Develop effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

Others Work collaboratively with the Technical Groups & ASME Training Providers and to uncover new business opportunities, continuously improve customer satisfaction, and meet the needs of customers, volunteers and members. Support other units such as L&D and Student Programs such as E-Fest and EGD-ISHOW to acquire new clients and cross sell through volunteer relationships. Promote and develop professional memberships in the volunteer group and respective organizations. Develop comprehensive tactics and strategies to maintain a high value prospecting pipeline that includes minimum quantities of regular face-to-face client meetings, proposals and client presentations, capturing responses for conversion into Sales Proposals.

Core Skills An extrovert and ace networker. Ability of meeting and communicating effectively with High level contacts, independently Well-read and updated with the latest developments in the industry. Communication skills (both written and verbal) Power-point presentation preparation skills Ability to portray ASME capability and convince with strong reasoning and data support Interpersonal skills/ Team player Good analytical and reasoning abilities Conversant with MS office tools . Knowledge of Salesforce ERP will be an added advantage.

Work Experience: 8 years minimum

Education Graduation must, B. Tech preferred
