Data Engineering Manager

Summary RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage a pod size of 10 Ensure that technical solutions are in line with company standards with respect to architecture, security, compliance, testing and product direction Implement industry best practices and tools to continually improve teams' ability to deliver and maintain solutions Attract, Mentor, guide, coach, coordinate training opportunities and support individual growth of direct reports Lead and manage agile teams of data engineers, data analysts, architects to build, deliver, and support strategic commercial initiatives at scale. Responsible for engineering of Inspire's enterprise data platforms, enabling value-driven business use cases and deep analytics.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work required Graduate degree in computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work preferred

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION: 5 years' experience building and supporting large-scale and highly available technology solutions and directly managing or leading a team(s) of data engineers. Experience in retail, restaurant, and / or eCommerce industry preferred Working within an Agile development environment preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES: Able to manage development team to deliverables: on time, scope and on budget Experience working with distributed teams Experience working with onshore and offshore team as well as with external vendor teams. Able to present complex technical concepts to business partners and senior management Experience leading teams with deep technical experience with enterprise development (e.g. Python, SQL) and technology platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Snowflake, Azure) Experience with establishing SDLC and Data Engineering best practices Experience with leading fine tuning, scaling and monitoring. Deep understanding of creating and integrating REST-based web services Proficiency with source control and release technologies (e.g., Git and Azure DevOps) and practices (e.g., CI/CD and automation) Good soft skills- able to work with business partners to understand the requirements, demonstrate solutions to business partners, gain commitment from business partners on their engagement/deliverables Cross-Functional internal team exposure – has worked previously with Product, Design, QA and Delivery leads Can help onboard and provide support to team members as they learn in their careers Experience leading Agile / Scrum development teams
