As Group Manager at INOPC-HVDC, Chennai you will be responsible for a given Group's strategy, operation, resource planning, competence development and people development. Group will consist of number of line functions / teams. You need to collaborate with various cross-functional group/teams, suppliers and customers. You will be part of local management and act as a 'sounding board' within the organization. Analysis and risk management will also be among your tasks. You will in many ways be the person at the center of things. Your leadership skills will be required to make your group success in every direction. Group Manager will be responsible for Control & Protection, Automation for HVDC

Hitachi Energy HVDC: HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and HVDC Light® are highly efficient alternatives for transmitting bulk power and for special purpose applications. The classic HVDC technology is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables. It is also used to interconnect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections cannot be used. HVDC Light® is an underground and submarine cable power transmission technology developed by Hitachi Energy that offers additional benefits compared to HVDC Classic.
Our Indian Operations Centre (INOPC ) is a competence centre with around 2000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision, and commissioning. Over the last decade, INOPC has evolved to become the largest engineering hub serving more than 40 countries across different energy sectors. The team caters to the four business units-Transformers, Grid Integration, Grid Automation, High Voltage and has successfully executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Your responsibilities:
Operational
Resource planning medium to long term and allocation based on the forecast of tenders & projects in collaboration with global organization.
Ensure KPI of the department (e.g. on time delivery, FPY, productivity)
Ensure achieving financial budget.
Review and approve techno-economic offering by your line in a tender/project, assess risk and opportunity.
Run routine review & follow-up with the project team and other cross-functional teams, supplier and customers.
Responsible for the Factory System Test area. Ensure smooth operations of the Test area with safety & legal compliance.
Recruitment of people as per the Capacity work force planning.
Accountable for the team as per Hitachi Energy Group compliance, Integrity, Health & Safety.
People
Responsible for personnel assessments / people's review, target setting for the direct reports.
Identify people's development area(s) and implement actions accordingly.
Identify key competence area and have succession planning.
Retention of key people.
Strategic
Participate in unit's strategic work and develop local strategy and road map.
Workout future scope expansion and competence development
Drive operation development for the local organization.

Your background:
Education Qualification: Bachelor degree in engineering in Electrical / Electronic
Should have previous experience of Line Manager/Team Leader for 3-5 years with a team size of at least 25+
Must have knowledge in Control & Protection systems for HVDC / FACTS.
Sound English language knowledge.
Strong communication and collaboration skills required.
Good intercultural sensitivity along with strong leadership skills.
