Job description
Overview:
The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in the scientific and medical research field by performing various laboratory tasks and experiments to support the research and development activities. This position is instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory operations contributing to the overall success of research projects and experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting various laboratory tests experiments and analyses
- Preparing specimens and samples for testing and analysis
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments
- Recording and interpreting data and results accurately
- Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
- Assisting in the development and improvement of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Collaborating with research teams to support ongoing projects
- Ensuring compliance with quality control and quality assurance standards
- Managing inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
- Documenting and maintaining accurate records of experiments and findings
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in the laboratory
- Participating in the calibration and validation of laboratory equipment
- Contributing to the maintenance of a clean and organized laboratory environment
- Assisting in the training of new laboratory personnel
- Keeping updated with the latest advancements and best practices in laboratory techniques
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related scientific field such as biology chemistry or biochemistry
- Proven experience working in a laboratory setting preferably in a research or academic environment
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols
- Proficiency in using various laboratory equipment and instruments
- Ability to analyze and interpret scientific data accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in conducting experiments and tests
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with research teams
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines in a laboratory setting
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
