Job Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales governance lead to join our team. The Sales Effectiveness Lead will play a crucial role in helping to optimize the operations and provide governance to focus on overall efficiency & performance of our sales team and enhancing overall sales effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective sales strategies. Including helping business leaders & functional leaders to incorporate data & analytics into decision making.
Primary Responsibilities: 1. Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of sales performance data, including individual and team metrics, to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, revenue growth, and customer acquisition costs. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management, highlighting insights and actionable recommendations. Implement strategies to reduce costs of sales without compromising the quality of sales and marketing activities. 2. Goal Setting and Monitoring: Collaborate with sales leadership to establish clear, measurable, and achievable sales goals and targets. Monitor progress toward sales objectives and take proactive measures to address any deviations or obstacles. Adjust goals as needed based on market conditions, business priorities, and performance trends. 3. Sales Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasting models, leveraging historical data and market analysis. Work closely with sales and finance teams to ensure alignment between forecasts and budgets. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize forecasting accuracy. 4. Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews with sales representatives to assess individual and team achievements. Provide constructive feedback and identify areas for improvement. Work with sales leaders to create and implement development plans for underperforming team members. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SGNA costs and sales performance. 5. Training and Development: Collaborate with the training department to identify and address skill gaps within the sales team. Develop and implement training programs to enhance sales skills, product knowledge, and customer engagement. Ensure ongoing professional development opportunities are available for the sales team. 6. Sales Process Improvement: Evaluate and optimize sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement changes to streamline workflows and improve the overall sales experience. Work cross-functionally to ensure sales processes align with other business functions. Leverage CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and other tools to optimize sales processes. Professional Experience/Qualifications A Sales Effectiveness Leader is responsible for optimizing the performance of a sales team and ensuring that sales strategies align with business objectives. 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible sales leadership roles is typically required. Savvy with sales tools and excel / dashboards etc. Experience in bringing automation into the process and driving adoption Demonstrated experience in sales performance management, including setting and achieving sales targets and KPIs. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, finance, and operations. Strong understanding of sales processes and methodologies. Proactive in identifying and resolving issues that impact sales performance. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies. Regularly assess and analyse sales metrics to identify areas for improvement. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with senior executives, management & stakeholders on a global level; demonstrated ability to lead through influence and work across cultural differences. Champion of people spanning organizational hierarchies with a demonstratable track record for creating engaged high performing teams Proven communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations), including the ability to translate complex ideas into recommended programs, initiatives, and outcomes; provide sound business justification to support decision-making. Outcome-oriented mindset combined with a strategic toolkit and execution focus, able to drive good ideas from concept to outcome in an effective manner. Experience working in a global context, across multiple time zones in a matrixed environment. The ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
