AVP, FC Risk Stewardship Training GSC’S Why join us? Financial Crime The Financial Crime (FC) Function is a Second line of defense (LOD) function that includes ”Risk Stewards” who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the Group’s businesses (also referred to as “the First LOD” or “FLOD”). The FC Function also operates a set of critical controls on behalf of the FLOD by harnessing intelligence, analytics, technology, detection and investigation. The Risk Stewards are responsible for reviewing and challenging all the activities of the FLOD to ensure that, as “Risk Owners”, they effectively manage the FC risk inherent in, or arising from, the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. FC risk is a non-financial risk that includes fraud, money laundering, bribery and corruption, sanctions violations, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, export control violations and tax evasion. The FC function operates in accordance with HSBC Group’s Risk Management Framework (RMF). The Assistant Vice President Risk Stewardship –Training role will support the COE Risk stewardship teams in building Financial Crime and LoB portfolio knowledge to the Risk Steward staff supporting across Group / Regions and Markets. In addition, they will also be upskilling existing Risk Stewardship teams to perform SME-related FC activities. Assistant Vice President Risk Stewardship – Training role involves developing and executing a broad-based learning and development strategy for FC teams. The selected candidate is expected to support the training initiatives for tactical business /process learning solutions to meet staff capability needs in line with the defined strategy. The remit of role holder will be to train CoE Risk Stewardship teams. Role holder will carry out activities that will include most of the following, but not limited to: Work on training content development for new hire, BAU, refresher and continuous learning initiatives. Display core subject expertise in Financial Crime risk domains. Support cross-site business growth through effective, timely learning interventions. Share knowledge & experiences with FC teams by providing assistance/guidance on training related initiatives Implement Training Operating Plan/Annual Calendar Actively promote self-development and the usage of the different learning channels. Monitor the consistency of training delivered through periodic checks to ensure all staff are consistently meeting quality deliverables. Detailed reports of these checks to be recorded and used for performance review requirements. Develop training contents, including interactive modules, to fulfill the training needs of the team Proactively identify learning themes and develop Learning courses. Provide full developmental and administrative support to FC CoE Manage reporting of Training certifications and its KPIs for performance of function. Support the FC Risk Stewradship COE lead in maintaining oversight on Training associated SLAs/ targets set out to the COE Risk steward teams that support the Regions/ Group and markets Responsible for the creation of Training associated meeting packs, papers, agendas items and MI, liaising with stakeholders across regions and global teams for relevant updates, ensuring the meeting materials are accurate and complete. Maintain governance on the training and staff budgets allocated to the teams Role Context The role will report to the Head of FC Risk Stewardship CoE This can involve dealing with major issues for which there is no clear-cut solution whilst still being able to provide judgment and clear direction. Where items of major consequence are involved, engagement with the relevant top-level management will be expected, directly and through collaboration with Head of FC Risk Stewardship COE, as appropriate. Qualifications - External What you will need to succeed in the role: Certifications, Qualifications and Experience Experience in Financial Crime Risk management advisory or similar Risk function. Knowledge of FC risks in the financial services industry. Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e., within the financial services industry covering AML, Sanctions, ABC, Fraud, Tax Evasion, Transaction Monitoring, Client/Payment Screening is desirable but not essential. Background in Learning & Development/Training Environment is desirable. Experience in training techniques, methods, evaluation. Ability to explain difficult concepts to a broad cross-section of staff. WPB, CMB and GBM product knowledge is desirable. Interpersonal Skills (i.e., collaboration and networking) with experience of dealing with stakeholders including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management. Excellent communication (oral, written and presentational) Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management. Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Compliance and Business globally Ability to work independently on distinct tasks, escalating as appropriate. Experience in leading a team / group of individuals is desirable Effective Time management & prioritization skills with an ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver against stringent deadlines Knowledge in MS Office Suite, MS PowerPoint & Excel / VBA. CAMS/CFCS/CGSS/ICA Advanced Certification preferable. Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
