About the Job
The Head of Communications oversees the company's public relations efforts, crucial for shaping its positive image and reputation within the industry. Responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies. This leadership role manages communication with various stakeholders including the media, customers, partners and regulatory bodies.
Charged with stewardship of the brand, the Head of Communications crafts and conveys the narrative of the company as a dynamic fintech entity, shaping its perception with the users, industry and public. This role demands a balance of creativity, strategic thinking and executional excellence in enhancing the reputation and brand image of the fintech company.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Strategy Development: Develop, implement and manage the company's branding strategy to ensure brand consistency across all platforms and align with the company's growth objectives.
- Company Positioning: Position the company as a leader in the fintech sector through innovative campaigns and messaging that resonate with the core audience.
- Integrated Communications: Oversee all internal and external communications, ensuring that the company's values, mission and messages are consistently communicated.
- Media Relations : Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company, managing relationships with the media and crafting press releases, speeches and presentations.
- Content Creation: Lead content strategy and development across all channels, including digital, social media and print.
- Market Research: Conduct and analyse market research to understand current trends, brand positioning and customer perceptions, adapting strategies accordingly.
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communications strategies to maintain the company's reputation in the face of challenges.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing communications team.
- Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators for brand health and the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Agency Management: Manage relationships with external agencies to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, partners and industry leaders, to promote and advocate for the company's brand.
- Budget Management: Oversee the budget for communications activities, ensuring ROI on marketing initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- Professional Experience: At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in marketing or communications, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Prior experience in the Fintech sector is highly desirable.
- Media Relations: Proven track record in managing media relations and a strong network of media contacts.
- Brand Management: Demonstrated experience in building and managing a consumer brand, preferably in the Fintech industry.
- Strategic Planning: Experience in developing and executing successful strategic communications plans.
- Digital Marketing: Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and platforms.
