Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst for eCommerce to join our team. The Business Analyst will play a critical role in driving the success of our eCommerce initiatives by analyzing business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders from various departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and IT, to gather requirements and translate them into actionable plans for eCommerce enhancements. The Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding customer behavior, optimizing the user experience, and leveraging data insights to drive business growth in the online retail space.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders from sales, marketing, operations, and IT departments to understand business needs, goals, and challenges related to eCommerce.
- Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements specific to eCommerce initiatives, including online sales, customer experience, and order fulfillment processes.
- Conduct detailed analysis of existing eCommerce processes, systems, and data to identify areas for improvement, conversion rate optimization, and enhanced customer experience.
- Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to gather insights on customer behavior, purchase patterns, and website performance to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of eCommerce business requirements, and process flows, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Design and propose eCommerce solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices, including website enhancements, payment gateways, inventory management systems, and order fulfillment workflows.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure proposed eCommerce solutions' feasibility, scalability, and practicality.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate effective communication, and act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the eCommerce project lifecycle.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for eCommerce solutions to ensure adherence to requirements and optimal user experience.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to eCommerce, such as conversion rates, average order value, and customer satisfaction, and propose enhancements based on performance analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in eCommerce to provide strategic recommendations for business growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the eCommerce domain, with a strong understanding of online retail processes and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data insights for decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders from different departments and levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation techniques specific to eCommerce.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies to gather insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of eCommerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), and order management systems (OMS).
- Experience in user experience (UX) design, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and customer journey mapping in an eCommerce context.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced and dynamic eCommerce environment.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management practices.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified eCommerce Analyst (CEA) or similar are advantageous.
