Job Title: Assistant Manager - Transport

Department: Facilities Management

Reports To: Transport Manager

Location:- Bangalore

Job Overview: The Assistant Manager - Transport will assist the Transport Manager in overseeing the transportation operations within the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of transport management practices. The Assistant Manager will oversee a team of drivers and other transportation staff to ensure safe and efficient transportation services for employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Transport Manager in developing and implementing transport policies, procedures, and strategies to optimize transport operations. Manage a team of drivers, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and training as needed. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure transportation needs are met, including making arrangements for employee transportation, visitor transportation, and special events. Ensure compliance with local transportation regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Oversee the maintenance and repair of the organization's fleet, including regular inspections, servicing, and documentation. Implement initiatives to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports on transportation operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Develop and maintain relationships with external transportation providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements are met. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in transport management to recommend and implement best practices. Aid in the development and management of the transportation budget, ensuring cost control and optimization.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a corporate environment. Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety practices, and environmental considerations. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise a team and promote a positive work environment. Exceptional organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in using MoveInSync applicatio and other relevant software applications. Familiarity with fleet management software and telematics systems is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
