Senior Accountant
We're looking for an Senior Accountant candidate with experience in General Ledger and Royalty to join our team in Bangalore.
You will report to the Manager, Accounts.

The Royalty Senior Accountant role is responsible for supporting end-to-end royalty accounting from setup to payment, including complete ownership of monthly and quarterly royalty statements and payments process to third-party data providers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of royalty administration, financial processes and reporting tools and be adept at performing analysis of large sets of data.
Your Role Responsibilities Here's What You'll Do
- Accurately process and prepare monthly and quarterly royalty accruals and statements. Ensure timely and accurate payments to third-party data providers.
- Work closely with Products, Legal, Procurement and Finance to validate and process royalty accruals and payments. Ensure that all accruals and payments comply with contractual agreements.
- Perform analysis of historical payments and other relevant data in response to inquiries from data providers or internal stakeholders.
- Perform ongoing analysis of royalty costs as a percentage of the related revenue and assist with Procurement RFP's (requests for proposals) to ensure optimal pricing and appropriate vendor selection.
- Represent Finance during the contract negotiation process with all data providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all royalty-related transactions. Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all financial data.
- Continually assess and improve the royalty processing procedures. Identify and implement efficiencies within the royalty payment process.
- Perform reconciliations of royalty accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data.
- Assist in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries and analysis.
- Take on special projects as needed, which may include process enhancement initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of royalty processing.
Role Essentials
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-10 years experience as an Accountant, Financial Analyst, or similar role, in the software industry.
- At least 2 year experience working in a royalty administration role
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Table) and PowerBI.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
- Experience working within a fast pace changing environment while maintaining multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Royalty experience a plus.
- Oracle Cloud experience a plus.
