Senior Network Engineer
Job Description:
- This role provides hands-on strategic and technical leadership for network management tools and automation solutions that incorporate best-in-class applications and forward-thinking market direction.
- This is a DevOps Engineer role for Network management application who is responsible for introducing processes and methodologies and also responsible for analysis and provide solutions for evolving and networking technologies in support of NetOps and Network Engineering in a large-scale enterprise.
- Proven experience in lifecycle management of these solutions including integrations and application migrations is required, Ongoing development and enhancement of these solutions to meet performance, scalability, stability, security, and speed of delivery in an Agile fashion is critical.
- The role is an escalation point for network tool support, troubleshooting and vendor engagement for our operations support teams.
- You will be expected to guide or function as an Agile Product Owner and Technical Project lead with complex enterprise initiatives that leverage our monitoring solutions.
- Experience in data streaming/telemetry integrated with solutions like Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch and/or Splunk is highly desired and also experience on network flow traffic analysis is an add on.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer who can do product engineering on Network Management tools & application.
- Should have experience on one of the below tools:- Broadcom DX NetOps, AppNeta, DX Virtual Network Assurance, DXOI, Traffic Analysis Tools like Apcon, Netscout, Extrahop, Arista DMF, Arista CVaaS, FORTINET Applications
- 5+ years Linux operating systems administration
- 5+ years of working experience on any of the network management tools like performance/fault or configuration management tools.
- 3+ years of shell/command-line experience or support of Perl, Python, or other development/scripting language
- Working knowledge on Big Data solutions like Elastic Search, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Splunk etc.
- 2+ year of Agile Delivery experience
- CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge with 7+ years of network domain knowledge on all areas including network designing, troubleshooting network issues in large scale enterprises with vendors including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5 etc.
- 5+ years of experience with configuration management and automations on Network devices, Telemetry data, Data streaming, traffic analysis
- Ability to understand customer requirements, analyze them, and deliver an appropriate implementation through our enterprise network monitoring and management solutions
- Great communication (written and oral), presentation development, quick learning, self-initiated
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, Teams/Skype and other chat and collaboration applications
Desirable Skills:
- 2+ years of applied workflow automation development
- 5+ years of Linux administration
- 5+ years experience with Virtual Machine hosted deployments
- Experience with network automation, visualization, and diagramming applications
- Experience in integration of applications and application data
- Working knowledge of lifecycle management, including implementation, maintenance, patching, health checks, application capacity planning, and decommissioning
- Experience in a large corporation/enterprise environment with 10's of 1000's of devices
- Good understanding of management process frameworks, such as ITIL
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor 4-year degree
- 7+ years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
