Job description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechatronics Engineer with expertise in 5-axis systems to play a key role in the development of our advanced 3D printing technology. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing the mechatronic components of our 5-axis 3D printer, ensuring superior performance, reliability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design: Collaborate with the engineering team to design and optimize the mechanical structure and kinematics of the 5-axis 3D printer using CAD software.
- Control System Development: Develop sophisticated control algorithms to precisely command the motion of each axis, ensuring accurate positioning and synchronization for high-quality 3D printing.
- Sensor Integration: Integrate sensors such as encoders, accelerometers, and temperature sensors to provide feedback for closed-loop control and enable advanced features such as real-time monitoring and adaptive control.
- Electrical and Electronics Design: Design and implement the electrical and electronic components of the system, including motors, drives, amplifiers, and controllers, ensuring compatibility with the control system and performance requirements.
- Software Development: Write firmware for microcontrollers, develop PLC programming, and create higher-level software for user interfaces and system integration, leveraging programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLC programming languages.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct extensive testing and validation of the 5-axis 3D printer to verify performance, accuracy, and reliability. Debug and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and commissioning.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document design specifications, test procedures, and results. Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal review and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Proven experience in mechatronics engineering with a focus on 5-axis systems, preferably in the additive manufacturing or CNC machining industry.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and simulation.
- Expertise in control systems design and implementation, including PID control, motion planning, and trajectory optimization.
- Hands-on experience with electrical and electronic components, including motors, drives, and sensors.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLC programming languages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment, independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse technical backgrounds.
