Job description
The India Head of FCM Meetings & Events is responsible for the commercial success of the pillar via revenue & margin growth, customer acquisition & retention, excellent customer service delivery and operational efficiency across the core services of Meetings (venue source & fully managed), Event Travel, and Live Events.
The Meetings & Events Leader, India must have ambition, demonstrated experience leading a business, strong business acumen, and customer centric passion to lead the pillar within one of the largest travel markets globally.
As a commercially savvy thinker, the leader must possess a deep understanding of how the businesses’ income, costs, products, services, and systems perform to continually seek competitive advantage to improve market share and grow the business.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction and execute FCM Meetings & Events India growth strategy to secure market leadership position within the competitive landscape in India.
- Demonstrates full ownership of operational functions within FCM Meetings & Events India to create positive experiences for our customers and drive business success.
- Responsible for delivering top and bottom-line growth.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders internally & externally to deliver an outstanding & consistent customer experience across meetings, event travel and live events.
- Direct and oversee the implementation of one best way across operational systems, processes & technology.
- Work with customers, suppliers, regional leadership and team members to identify opportunities and deliver customer centric solutions with superlative business outcomes.
- Identifies opportunities for business process & productivity improvement and represent M&E India in global and regional forums.
- Support the region where required with a creative and strategic approach to new acquisition & retention to differentiate our offering in the market and drive maximum margin opportunity.
- Drives and delivers on team business plan and KPIs.
- Provides clear communication and direction for our people, suppliers and customers.
- Identifies, nurtures, develops, and promotes talent from within and builds an inclusive and diverse management team.
- Measuring success and holding people accountable through Key Performance Indicators that are measurable and achievable.
- Interprets risk and opportunities and understands the financial levers.
- Operates ethically and within the realms of good corporate governance.
You will have.
- 3-5 years in a senior management P&L role within an international business
- Experience selling to and working with Indian corporate businesses; willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and get the deal done.
- In-depth understanding and awareness of Meetings & Events products that deliver the best outcome for our customer & FCM.
- Strong business acumen and analytics skills to drive business strategy and decisions.
- Commercial mindset - understands key business drivers and implications specifically related to pricing strategy, income, margin, and revenue opportunities.
- Ability to present options that drive compelling financial and operational value to deliver growth and profitability.
- Superior knowledge of preferred supplier deals and how they are structured and optimized.
- Exceptional and fluent communicator with experience of leading large teams
- Proven track record to grow, develop and retain top talent.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and with a challenging workload.
