Job description
The HCL Lead Infrastructure Architect is responsible for providing technical and management leadership for infrastructure deployment projects, on public clouds, private clouds, and hybrid. This individual will be responsible for the design of infrastructure in support of HCL Software’s Cloud Products. They will be responsible for the technical and management oversight of a team that will design, deploy, deliver, test, and document highly available, mission critical infrastructure in a variety of cloud deployment models compliant with both customer, system, IT, and security requirements. Additionally, this individual will lead the implementation of operational logging and monitoring systems in support of Day 2 operational needs of the business.
Experience: Qualified candidates should have 10+ years of experience and a demonstrated track record in infrastructure design, delivery, troubleshooting, automation, operationalization, and testing of complex mission critical IT systems, with 5 years in a leadership role. Experience with deploying advanced devops frameworks is a must. The role requires a 4-year university degree. Responsibilities: Working with HCL’s network, devops, and software teams, lead the design of complex infrastructure solutions in support of business requirements in support of the deployment of HCL Software products. Responsible for the development of software CI/CD pipelines in both Openshift, Kubernetes, and VMWare environments. Significant experience operating in highly secure environments, and ability to ensure a delivery is compliant with relevant security standards. Experience managing web applications, web servers, application server frameworks in VM and Cloud based configurations. Experience working in customer facing roles on highly visible projects. Lead software deployment infrastructure design for HCL Software products, including the development of CI/CD pipelines for management of software on infrastructure. Deploy and manage packages using helm charts. Knowledgeable about GitOps based operational approaches. Experienced with infrastructure as code with tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc. Experienced is supporting Compliance audits for standards such as ISO-27001, SOC 2, PCI, etc. Drive remediation of identified vulnerabilities either through infrastructure or working with Product teams. Design patching strategies and systems to maintain infrastructure currency. Experienced with database technologies such as key / value, relational, and noSQL. Experienced with messaging technologies such as MQ and Kafka. Experience in design and deployment of monitoring systems to ensure ongoing system reliability Understands design of highly available, resilient infrastructure and responsible for HA, Disaster Recovery, backup and recovery strategies. Experienced working with testing teams on performance testing, and optimizing the infrastructure performance to achieve design targets. Products: VMWare experience. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure a plus. Kubernetes, Openshift, Helm, GitOps. Working knowledge of database products (MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, Aerospike). Windows, Redhat and/or other major Linux variants. Travel: 15% +/- travel required.
