Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Director, Strategic Accounts to cover select key North American clients on our rapidly growing US commercial team. The Sr. Director, Strategic Accounts reports directly to the VP of Sales and is responsible for planning, directing and executing a sales strategy for ~6 key accounts. The Sr. Director, Strategic Accountswill be accountable for delivering profitable sales growth for their assigned accounts by targeting and visiting clients face to face to build strong commercial relationships and customer loyalty.

The successful candidate will be a self-starting; results focused individual with a demonstrable record of sustained sales results achieved by building strong client relationships and loyalty. Drives growth by developing clear long and short term account plans targeting profitable opportunities.

This position will cover select key clients in the mid-Atlantic region and can be remote.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for building and expanding profitable annual sales growth and achieving agreed annual sales targets for the CellCarta portfolio with assigned accounts.
• Targets client growth opportunities in the biopharmaceutical sector
• Navigates and networks complex decision-making units in large accounts to identify key decision makers, build relevant relationships/client loyalty and grow market share and sales volume across the services portfolio
• Builds detailed account plans for coordinated management and reporting of client opportunities
• Liaises with client services to execute effective and efficient commercial transaction processes including proposals, pricing and contracting
• Utilizes CRM system effectively and efficiently to provide real-time communication of client activities and opportunity management
• Represents CellCarta’s services at key relevant scientific conferences
• Pro-actively provides market and competitor feedback through formal marketing intelligence reporting system
• Field based position requiring frequent travel. Approx. 60% of working time in field visiting clients at their sites, hosting client visits to CellCarta sites and attending key relevant industry conferences.
• Achieve quarterly and annual authorization goals as outlined in sales incentive comp plan.
• Handle inbound client emails and calls, qualify leads, and grow client relationships at the appropriate levels.
• Expand client requests upselling and cross-selling when possible.
• Provide sales activity reports to management on a regular cadence.
• Provide general intelligence on key competitors.
• Sell the business unit’s capabilities leveraging differentiation framework.
• Collaborate with companywide resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction.
• Organize and hosts client visits if required.
• Uses SFDC to manage internal communication and document territory and client information as required.
• Maintain frequent email and phone contact with clients to grow and expand business relationships.
• Leverage Marketing, SMEs, and Customer Service and Support Staff to support client discussions and heighten clients’ awareness of business unit services.
• Create leads from literature and industry events including peer reviewed journals, poster/symposium presenters, and attendee lists, as well as from other sources as necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in life science or business field
• A higher degree such as MSc. or MBA preferable

Main Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• At least 2 years direct field sales experience in the CRO sector
• Demonstrable account planning and management skills
• Evidence of sustained multiple year sales growth performance
• Direct experience using CRM for client management and activity reporting.
• In depth knowledge and experience of drug development cycle
• Moderate industry knowledge
• Functional scientific/technical expertise in specific areas of laboratory diagnostics/genomics/biology
• Commercial/Sales experience with knowledge of Marketing Analytics
• Experiences with Salesforce.com, Eloqua, ZoomInfo, and similar tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent writer and verbal communicator
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and self-discipline.
