Design Engineer - ENGINEERING

As a member of the Engineering team (one of the divisions in SEDIN), you will be responsible for the Product design and development  applications. You will be working with other engineers and developers on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

 Where you’ll do it: This role is hybrid (based out of Chennai & Bangalore, India)

 An initial screening of the resume leads to a 4-stage interview process lasting atleast a week:  15-minute HR chat  30-minute Technical Round (sometimes paired with a short take-home exercise )30-minute call with the Operations Head to discuss the position & fit  1 -hour final interview with the CEO/CFO to assess a culture fit

 Reporting to: Alex, Head of Engineering services.

What You'll do?

●      You will translate functional requirements into technical requirements

●      You wil design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable Apex code with best practices

●      You will be responsible for providing hands on expert level guidance to junior developers for technical issues

●      You will  ensure the best possible quality of the application.

●      You will  take ownership of project work and developing client relationships

●      You will  Identify bugs and align with requirements during debugging

●      You will Explore new updates from every release and critical updates in project applications.

●      You will Perform code reviews and ensure the quality of the deliverables.

●      You will Perform POC on new concepts.

 

What You will bring?

●      You have good Communication & client facing skills

●      You have minimum 3 years of experience for Design Engineer Profile [Certificate will be validated]

●      You have minimum 2 years of experience for 3D modeling [Certificate will be validated]

●      You have worked on multiple Client facing projects

●      You have good experience in SolidWorks, Autodesk inventor.

●      You are Flexible to work remotely and if required from the office [Chennai/Bangalore] based on the project needs.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in  Solidworks and PDM
Experience in designing    Veener conveyors/ Plywood and board-mill industry/ Dryer systems/Roller conveyors.

Experience in 3D modeling, Assembling & Drafting

Create moderate to complex machine design models and drawings from rough drawings, sketches or notes provided by engineers/Project managers

Experience with sheet metal and weldments and Processes

Designs of equipment including sub-assemblies, production drawings, ECRs, and bills of materials (BOMs).

Creating 2D drawings from 3D models applying ISO, DIN, ASME, and GD&T is a must.

Knowledge of materials, and strength/sizing calculations is required

Strong knowledge of standard Drafting Practices and Procedures

Should be able to perform Quality Testings of 3D/2D design standards

Should be able to train the team

Any PDM (Product Data Management) experience is required - Solidworks PDM is preferable.

Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.

Should be able to interact with Clients (Foreigners) clearly and be able to understand the requirements

Keen to learn new Technology and process and share knowledge with the Team.
