About the role
Vertiver works in environmental sustainability through strategic behaviour communication change strategies. Its ongoing assignments include promoting ecologically sustainable agriculture, protecting species facing extinction, and building climate resilience among communities that are most vulnerable through behaviour change. In this context, we are looking for a Communications Associate with a strong passion for working on climate change, natural resource conservation, and biodiversity to enable environmental and social impact in India. This will require the Communications Associate to work closely with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) The ideal professional in this position will be someone who enjoys developing communication tools in collaboration with government counterparts, a versatile and innovative team of design-thinkers, behavior change experts and scientists, and researchers to co-create effective multi-disciplinary and multilingual communication outputs. Helping disseminate these effectively to a broad-ranging stakeholder group across policymakers to farmers is also a part of this role. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about applying multi-platform communication skills towards enabling sustainability and is comfortable working across cross-sectoral themes. Key Responsibilities
● Designing, executing and monitoring development communication campaigns with a focus on community engagement.
● Using creative approaches for digital and print media (including vernacular communications) to convert ideas into campaign collaterals with the support design professionals.
● Developing dissemination plans across sectors and geographies to promote relevant awareness campaigns and implement the plan through strategic partnerships.
● Ideating and supporting the development of knowledge products (such as films, nukkad nataks, graphic novels, blogs, podcasts, newsletters, training modules, workshops, etc.)
●Supporting Vertiver's internal communications across the web and social media platforms and supporting presentations, etc.
● Assessing RFPs and develop proposals that address their requirements while developing proposals.
●Working collaboratively with teams, which include research, programmes and finance professionals, so as to develop documents and proposals that are technically sound.
● Ensure language excellence in all communications content and managing and quality-controlling communications
● Manage timelines
Eligibility
● A degree in a relevant field such as mass/development communications and journalism, literature, and/or sustainability and related fields- the IDEAL candidate will have prior experience working on sustainability issues.
● Knowledge in key areas of marketing and proficiency with digital marketing tools
● Experience in writing Grants
● Possess 1-2 years of relevant work experience with substantial experience in communication-based roles
● Ability to communicate in English and Hindi
● Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
● Willingness to travel
