Job description
Objectives of the position
- To carry out pigment testing and qualification for various customers in the OEM Automotive industry. This includes the development of new coating technology for grinding pigments or making effect pigment slurry and qualification of new raw materials and especially pigments and effect pigments
- Coordinate the submission and certification of pigment and effect pigment in required Technology
- Test & Report on pigments and effect pigments per the established Standard Operating Procedures and reporting and documentation formats. All work must follow the priority set in Pigment Selection meetings and the North American Color Excellence Manager
- Ensure compliance with Quality standards (IATF & RC) and maintain certification
- Exercise an elevated level of good housekeeping and Health and Safety Awareness within the Lab and ensure others do the same
- To coordinate the various activities within R & D team
Main tasks - The Selected candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting pigment testing and qualification for various customers in the Automotive OEM Industry. This includes the use of existing and newly developed coatings technology for the qualification of raw materials and especially pigments and effect pigment
- Submission and certification of pigment and effect pigment technology to various customers per customer request
- Test and report on pigments and effect pigments per the established Standard operating procedures and reporting and documentation formats. Document per established guidelines and present to the global BASF Community
- To act as secondary point of contact with North American Operation
- To discuss with PSM community and update on pigment qualification status
- Interaction with Supplier and recommendation of new pigments for qualification
- Support and implement cost reduction projects
- Work in SAP, FES, Microsoft Office, and Similar System
- Ensure Compliance to Quality Standards (IATF and RC) and help to maintain certification
EHS management:
- Implement EHS procedures at CTC to maintain a safe working environment that supports CTC activities
- Conduct walkthroughs and audits in CTC to ensure early identification of hazards and initiate timely corrective actions and preventive practices
- To ensure the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and adherence to PPE usage of the lab personnel and the Work Permit system is properly followed. Compliance of process safety and environment code as per BASF practice
Minimum Education And Qualification Required For The Position - Master's degree in science with 1-2 yrs Experience.
- English Communication skill is must Background with coatings Technology is added advantage
- Working at Pigment related industry will be an added advantage
