Position : Logistics Dispatcher

Experience : 2+ Years
Location : Alberta or Ontario
Roles and Responsibilities
• Planning delivery routes and making changes as and when required.
• Keeping track of dispatched orders, delivery routes of truck drivers, route adjustments, and pickup/delivery timelines
• Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Recording customer complaints and inquiries
• Using Global Positioning Systems to monitor the location of the drivers.
• Communicating with carriers and customers
• Directing and organizing logistics activities that may include obtaining shipping rates or negotiating with service providers.
• Ensuring carrier compliance with company policies and procedures
• Ensuring prompt receipt and delivery of equipment to and from customers
• Coordinating deliveries with other work units or departments
• Dealing with conflict and being able to solve it quickly.
• Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
• Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
• Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
• Preparing dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
• Keeping track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply.
• Reviewing drivers' logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
• Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints
