Job description
Position Overview: As a Purchase Manager for our Retail Mall, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services required for the smooth operation of the mall. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management:
- Identify and establish relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to obtain the best possible deals.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Procurement Planning:
- Collaborate with department heads to determine procurement needs and develop procurement plans.
- Forecast demand for goods and services and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet operational requirements.
- Purchase Order Management:
- Generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Track and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchase orders, invoices, or deliveries.
- Quality Control:
- Establish quality standards for purchased goods and services.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on received items to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Cost Management:
- Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or service.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee stock replenishment processes.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience working as a Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the retail industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Familiarity with local market vendors and suppliers is an advantage.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management is desirable.
