Position Overview:
The Email Server Administrator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our email server infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include managing configurations ensuring security measures troubleshooting issues and collaborating across teams to ensure seamless email communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize the email server infrastructure from installation to ongoing configuration and performance enhancements.
Performance Monitoring & Security: Monitor server performance availability and security proactively addressing any issues that may arise. Implement robust email security measures including spam filtering virus scanning and encryption.
Reliable Email Delivery: Ensure dependable and efficient email delivery promptly troubleshooting and resolving any delivery failures or delays.
Protocol Configuration & Integration: Configure and manage email protocols such as SMTP POP3 IMAP and authentication mechanisms. Collaborate with IT teams for seamless integration with other systems (e.g. Active Directory CRM).
Network Optimization: Collaborate with the network team to optimize network configurations for efficient email traffic.
Logs Monitoring & Backup: Monitor and analyse email server logs conduct regular backups and develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
Technology Updates: Stay updated with the latest email server technologies protocols and security practices ensuring the server remains current and secure.
Vendor Collaboration & EndUser Support: Collaborate with vendors and service providers for prompt issue resolution. Provide technical support to end users for email serverrelated queries and issues.
Documentation & Procedures: Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.
The Role You Will Be Responsible For
Designing maintaining and supporting the network infrastructure.
Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
Recommending infrastructure solutions to meet business requirement in compliance with IT policy & procedure.
Providing Level 2 support and troubleshooting as and when required.
Analysing monitoring configuring and maintaining existing systems and identify room for improvements.
Ensuring overall system and server uptime availability reliability and security.
Liaising with 3rd party vendors IT providers etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Over 4 years of proven experience as an Email Server Administrator or in a similar role adept in managing and maintaining email server infrastructure.
Strong expertise in email server technologies protocols and standards (SMTP POP3 IMAP etc.).
Proficiency in email server administration software (e.g. Microsoft Exchange Postfix Send mail Exim) and relevant tools.
Experience in configuring and managing email security measures like spam filtering virus scanning and encryption.
Familiarity with power MTA email server performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Sound understanding of network protocols and configurations relevant to email server administration.
Proficiency in email server backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Strong problemsolving and analytical skills for troubleshooting complex email server issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities working effectively with crossfunctional teams and end users.
Detailoriented highly organized and adept at managing multiple tasks and priorities. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python) for task automation is advantageous.
Relevant certifications in email server administration (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server Linux Foundation Certified Engineer) are beneficial
