Job description
Title: Manufacturing In charge - SMC
Reporting to: Plant Head
Reportees :
1. Section Leader compounding
2. Section Leader (Cutting, Molding & Punching)
Work in co-ordination with:
1. Super Market in charge
2. Planner
3. Manager – QA
4. Section QC
5. Maintenance in charge
Role : KEY DELIVERABLES
1 Achieve 100% Plan adherence everyday – Zero out-off Plan Production
2 Ensure on-line Grinding/ Punching & Transfer to Supermarket
3 Raw Material yield >99%
4 Line Re-work/ Rejections < 1%
5 Zero re-work at Assembly – due to Grinding/ Punching/ Drilling Operations.
6 Line stoppage due to man, materials and machine/tools - <5% of Available time
7 Ensure Daily Maintenance of Machines within 3% of available time.
8 Tool change-over time to be within 5% of Available time
9 Implement & Practice 1S, 2S & 3S – Achieve the 3S score > 90%
10 Ensure Machine-wise log- book recording & Daily report of Machine-wise Production,
Stoppages, Re-work/ Rejections by 10.00 AM for previous night production & 6.00 PM (for
the last 24 hrs)
Scope of Work:
1 Starts from the time of receipt of the Plan from Plant Head for the next 3 days and ends with
handing over the project-wise production in to Super market in ready to Assemble condition.
2 Area to be covered – Compounding Shed, SMC Shed,
3 Adhere strictly - the Quality systems & Procedure – including First Piece Approval before
bulk production
4 Ensure Tools are maintained and available always for moulding.
5 Train and impart minimum skill in operators to achieve the deliverables
6 Implement hourly reporting system in visual mode in front of every machine & monitor to
ensure Production achieved as per plan and cycle time.
7 Ensure strict adherence of Planned Maintenance Schedules in coordination with
Maintenance in charge.
Qualification:
1. Educational background must be from Production Engineering/Industrial Engineering from a
reputed institute. Min 10 years of experience required in leading the production of
compression moulding, fabrication of FRP products, assembly is required.
2. A fundamental knowledge in cost accounting and analysis for cost control activities
3. Logical reasoning and analytical skills are required and process oriented approach must be
adhered to. Leadership and problem solving skills are required.
