Job Description – Industry NeXT Consultant
Context:
HCL supports clients in their overall digital transformation journeys. Especially in manufacturing but also in close verticals such as life sciences, TTL and Energy & Utilities a major portion of these digital transformations are centred around the value creation process. Industry 4.0 is a well-known bracket around these programs seeking to improve customer intimacy, top line growth and operational efficiency.
Lately worker well-being and new work concepts, sustainability, and a transformation of a linear value chain towards a value ecosystem together with the influx of new exciting technologies have even intensified and accelerated the transformational activities. HCL has created Industry NeXT, a program which extends the Industry 4.0 value proposition and focusses all HCL's capabilities and offerings for additional customer value.
As Industry NeXT gains traction in the market, we decided to launch an Industry NeXT strategy & consulting team which, after a year of success is set to grow significantly.
Building on our successes in the market around Industry NeXT -Innovation-Consulting, -Business Value and Transformation-Consulting and -Technology and Architecture-Consulting we will continue to build consulting asset-based approaches leveraging our unique position in the market and the vast capabilities of HCL in this space.
The ideal candidate:
We are looking for an experienced practitioner to work in the fast-growing Industry NeXT consulting team. The ideal candidate:
- Comes with a solid experience in operational areas such as plant engineering, plant IT and/ or plant OT.
- Ideally has also been able to gain some consulting experience.
- has a good overview of Industry 4.0 / Industry NeXT and the overall value proposition and use cases associated.
- Has the ability to work medium complex consulting assignments or individual project streams with the potential to lead those.
- Takes responsibility to consolidate insights and experience in assignments and therefore help to make our consulting offerings even more competitive.
- Identifies and maintains an effective network for delivery within IOTW (e.g. Solution Architects, Delivery, PMs) and with the wider HCL.
- Overall, 8-15 years of experience in relevant areas and industries
- has 8-15 years of experience in consulting and insights in at least 3 of our respective verticals either by consulting experience or directly from within the industry and developing business models.
- has adequate communication skills.
- brings willingness to travel with in GEO and globally.
- is aware that this role is high visible within the organization with great development opportunities within a dynamic and highly successful organization!
Main Job elements:
- Understand the Industry NeXT framework and its solutions, propositions, and capabilities, so that the candidate can drive its application in key pursuits.
- Develop the Industry NeXT framework based on new technologies or new market demands coming along.
- Drive consulting assignments to include cross functional teams.
- support the develop of the consulting practice to become a thought leader and door opener for the wider HCL in the context of Industry NeXT
- support demand shaping and deal closure activities for Industry NeXT consulting opportunities.
- act as SPOC for the integration of the wider HCL
- support publicity work (speaker, White Paper, etc)
Experienced in consulting to engagements in fields like:
- Design Thinking
- User Journey
- Use Case definition.
- Business Model Canvas
- business case for digital transformation
- Digital transformation governance
- experience in agile and traditional project delivery
Success criteria:
- Overall Industry NeXT adoption and revenue
- Successful project delivery in scope, time, and budget
- Follow on assignments at customer.
