Job description
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the waitstaff to ensure exceptional customer service and a smooth dining experience. They assist in training and mentoring the waitstaff, handle guest inquiries and complaints, and maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant.
Your Responsibilities As Supervisor - Assigning tasks to waitstaff, such as seating guests, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages.
- Monitoring the performance of waitstaff and providing feedback.
- Ensuring that guests receive prompt and courteous service throughout their meal.
- Addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner and finding suitable solutions.
- Overseeing table allocation and ensuring efficient use of seating.
- Maintaining accurate reservation records.
- Double-checking orders to ensure accuracy before they are delivered to the guests.
- Ensuring that special dietary requests or allergies are communicated to the kitchen staff.
- Ensuring that all waitstaff adhere to the restaurant's service standards, including dress code and conduct.
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
- Encouraging waitstaff to upsell menu items and beverages to increase revenue.
- Training staff on suggestive selling techniques.
- Handling cash payments and credit card transactions accurately.
- Reconciling cash registers at the end of each shift.
- Assisting in creating work schedules for the waitstaff to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
- Assisting in inventory management and stock control for items used in the dining area, such as glassware, silverware, and table linens.
Skill Sets We Require - Previous experience in a similar role in the restaurant industry.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menu items.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Experience amp; Pedigree: - Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
