Colleagues in our global Client Capabilities Network deliver distinctive client impact through assets and expertise and are driven by a culture of innovation. You’ll join a global team working on everything from IT modernization and strategy to Agile, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. You’ll typically work on data transformation projects across all industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm.
You’ll also work with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses, both on technology and non-tech topics.
Digital & Tech CCN has multiple Center of Competence (CoC) with members in each CoC supporting various service lines to bring deep subject matter expertise strengthening our client value proposition and delivery.
The Sourcing Center of Competence (CoC) supports the Sourcing service line within the Digital McKinsey practice. It serves as a global knowledge hub of Sourcing experts that own, maintain and deploy key proprietary knowledge assets of the service line. One of our significant areas of client service revolves around helping them in sourcing of IT products incl. Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and services (e.g., IT services sourcing, Software/Hardware procurement, cloud procurement etc.).
When you join McKinsey, you are joining a firm whose culture is distinctive and inclusive. We will accelerate your development as a leader to create positive, enduring change in the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Analyst focused on IT sourcing, you are expected to have understanding of sourcing/procurement of various IT software and services including strategic supplier selection, contracting, renewals, life cycle planning and costing, software licensing and cloud procurement.
Secondly, have a strong understanding of software license management lifecycle including planning, negotiation, procurement, assignment, license compliance, license audits, upgrades, maintenance, etc.
Lastly, analyze IT software/license contracts to identify opportunities for savings, revenue assurance, etc.
You will provide support to various client teams to help shape critical business decisions for our clients. You will support the development of the cell’s content expertise (in IT contracting/procurement) and maintenance of capabilities (including assets, knowledge, tools, fact packs, case studies, primers) and deliver that expertise to both client serving teams and directly to clients.
You will be expected to work on client engagements in a number of ways: e.g. as part of the CST, leading a workstream in area of expertise and/or provide short-term support delivering key insights in content-focused questions. Direct client support may be onsite or remote (though unlikely to be fully remote); could be regional or global in nature; will require flexibility to work across time zones and open to travel for short/long term assignments. While the amount of time spent staffed will vary, the average time is typically 40-50% of client time.
You will partner with consultants to understand knowledge needs and leverage a solid understanding of business trends, issues, and concepts to drive complex analyses to provide unique insights and deliver synthesized, actionable facts via end products (e.g. in the form of PowerPoint charts, written memos, models and framework) to our client serving teams and clients directly, as required.
You will also have the opportunity to work alongside senior knowledge professionals on larger client projects and internal knowledge initiatives. Additionally, you will collaborate and actively contribute to the work flow and activities within the global team around broader technology-related topics and also coach and develop less experienced colleagues.

There is flexibility to hire at the Analyst or Senior Analyst level, depending on candidate’s experience.
