The MCC Team Heads and Leads work closely with the local managers and functional managers to address and promote the growth, development and performance of the MCC teams well as escalate to and solve issues in partnership with the functional managers and vice versa.
The MCC Team Heads and Leads also provide on-site support to functional managers, Practice Groups and Legal Functions on hiring efforts, resourcing, broader based training and skills development, including promoting the firm’s and the Legal Department’s priorities and culture through participation in cross-Line of Business initiatives, Business Resources Groups and firmwide activities to help integrate team members into the Legal Department.
This position is the role of Head of MCC Legal reporting directly to the APAC General Counsel
Responsibilities :
- Lead and supervise the MCC Legal Teams at the MCC as the direct manager of the MCC Team Heads and local manager of the Team Leads, taking responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of the MCC Team’s goals and priorities.
- Maintain a close working relationship and regular dialogue with the Regional and Global PGs in order to escalate and resolve issues (resourcing, team management, service delivery, personnel issues)
- Provide on-site support to MCC Team Heads and Team Leads in the management of the MCC Teams (people processes, tasks, KPIs, service quality)
- Represent Legal on the MCC location management committees, control fourm and location-wide initiatives
- Represent MCC on Regional Legal Management Teams and department-wide initiatives to ensure that MCC’s voice and perspectives are adequately heard and represented
- Coordinate support for the various LOBs and PGs with team members at MCC
- Working with the Regional and Global Practice Group Heads and the MCC Team Heads, establish and administer an appropriate governance framework and best practices for the MCC
- Provide oversight for the delivery and/or implementation of regional or global projects at the MCC in conjunction with the MCC management team, HR Business Partners, establish and administer a best-in-class talent development program for the MCC legal team to supplement training and development programs established and run by individual Practice Groups or Legal functions
- Maintain a close working relationship and dialogue with HR Business Partners and Recruiters in order to understand and monitor the state of the talent market in India, notably in other corporate centers established in India, and identify potential talent for roles in the MCC
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with at least 15 years PQE will be viewed favorably but non-legally qualified candidates with similar level of experience will equally be considered;
- Experience from a financial institution’s captive offshoring center, international GCC or a top-tier In-house legal department;
- Strong track record of organizational leadership and management of large teams, including collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders at a local, regional and global level;
- Proven ability to execute cross-functional projects;
- International experience will be viewed favorably

LICENSING: Qualifications: JD or educational equivalent required. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment.
