Position : Head Geotechnical Design
Job Location : Surat (Work from office only)

Role description :
• Build, train, guide & manage team of geotechnical department.
• Manage the department following ISO procedures set by the organization.
• Provide geotechnical solution to any problem.
• Provide shoring design for UG Basement excavation support.
• Provide foundation recommendation for tender & operating projects.
• Get approval from IITs / Proof checking agencies appointed by the clients.
• Attend all meetings related to foundation design.
• Ensure Actual BOQ is less than tender BOQ.
• Site visits if required to address site issues.
• Represent L&T in national & international forums.
• Knowledge or experience in usage of Design tools like DC software, PLAXIS 2D/3D, TALREN, PIGLET, APILE & L-PILE to provide solution. Geotechnical design scope of work to be done in PFA SBG of B&F as follows.
• Soil Investigation Specification & BOQ preparation, Vendor, or agency finalization.
• Monitor Soil Investigation to get correct geotechnical design inputs for design.
• Foundation recommendation report preparation including back up calculation (In all types of soils & rock)
• Pile capacity calculations in various soils/rock. Test pile location plan/ Pile reinforcement calculations & drawing preparation. Validation of pile capacity by Pile load test (Vertical / Lateral / Pull out).
• Piled Raft design using latest design tools and theories.
• Shoring design Using PLAXIS 2D Software (Sheet pile with strut & waler /Diaphragm wallstrut/contiguous pile with soil/rock anchor); Design of all components like Anchor capacity, waler & strut design, modelling top-down method of construction.
• Dewatering system design. (Well point, Drawdown calculations, Open dewatering).
• Seepage control techniques like Jet -Grouting, slurry wall & flow net calculations.
• Soil improvement using stone column: Design of stone columns, settlement calculations & Liquefaction calculations.
• Swelling soil management techniques.
• Back Fill material specifications & various compaction techniques used for different back fill materials.
• Slope stability calculations / Slope stability with soil nails / Testing requirements/ Standard drawings.
• Geotechnical Instrumentation & monitoring; Specifications & installation methodology & standard drawings. (Inclinometers, Extensometers, Crack meters, water table monitoring, settlement monitoring procedure, osterberg load cell installation for soil nails/anchors etc.
