Job description
Position Title: SQL DBA
Location: Remote Reports to: Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications Job Duties - Work with database issues and deal with standard operational activities for both non-production and production systems.
- Assist in daily administration activities including setup, patching, configuration and monitoring of databases.
- Ensure backups, availability, and performance of all databases.
- Participate on all production databases issue troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or any ticket management system.
- Advise application development and support teams on process bottlenecks and provide database tuning or best practice guidelines to ensure optimal performance.
- Automating any repetitive task using PowerShell or Batch/Command options.
- Rotational on-call weekend support.

Job Requirements - Database administration: 5 years (Required)
- Windows Server working knowledge: 5 years (Required)
- Good working knowledge of at MSSQL database.
- Knowledge of Backup and recovery tools like Cohesity, Rubrik or VEAM for the databases.
- General database management like monitoring, troubleshooting, security, user maintenance, migration, database refreshes and patching etc.
- Familiarity with common Windows server distributions and common administrative tasks for windows.
- Scripting savvy and should be eager to automate, streamline infrastructure with PowerSHELL or similar tools. Knowledge of PowerSHELL or Batch/Command is a must.
- Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment.
- Ability to work with customers and end users directly.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Adapt to any new changes in the technology and infrastructure used within the organization.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
