The Technology group delivers the groups information technology functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through excellent process excellence and technology innovation.

We deliver available, reliable, consistent technology solutions for our internal and external customers, essential tools for our people and innovative product platforms for our customers (including Netbank and CommSec)

Your Business

The Business Banking Technology team within the Technology function manages the end-to-end technology needs for Business Banking (BB) within the CBA Group.

Our team is composed of engineers and technology leaders, who bring in the right mix of skills to enable this transformation. We also work very closely with our business and operations colleagues to support these services which are critical to the Australian and Global economy.

Working as part of the BBT Senior Leadership team, you will be accountable for prioritizing, coordinating, and leading the execution of technical platform delivery and service management across the BB domain.

Your reporting lines

  • Direct line reporting into the GM, Technology Products India
  • Functionally (dotted line) report into Executive General Manager BB & PSU Technology
  • You will be responsible for a significant direct and indirect team.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Experience in building teams and good understanding of global team management as well as operating model.
  • Experience of managing a large team of people along with the technical expertise to provide direction when needed to deliver high performance outcomes.
  • A deep industry and technical knowledge
  • Ability to coordinate and engage with multiple stakeholders (both business and technology) and following the procedures and escalation process.
  • Experience in leading service management teams with exposure to handling high severity and time critical incidents.
  • Outstanding delivery and running of large and complex technology programs.
  • Detailed knowledge of systems management process, including exposure to establishing incident management process
  • Team management skills, with exposure to managing multiple teams and different areas of the bank.
  • Ability to lead and inspire people to deliver exceptional outcomes and to drive a performance culture.
  • Experience in agile methods at scale, experiment driven innovation, and a measurement culture.
  • Ability to interpret complex subjects and architectures and recommend simple choices.
  • Risk mindset ā€“ All CBA employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.

Your Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science or tertiary qualifications in Information technology
  • 18+ years of experience in global technology delivery, service management, partner management, IT strategy and agile transformation
  • Experience of managing and building out a large team both change and run
  • Outstanding delivery and running of large and complex technology programs
  • Desirable to have a working experience in banking domain and a good understanding and knowledge of business banking products and lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

Work side by side with Technology leaders, Product Owners and all extended CBA team members to:

  • Lead the execution of technical platform delivery and service management activities for the BBT group from India.
  • Participate in developing long term strategic & technical planning and drive the improvement of the delivery capability.
  • Works closely with the BB LT, platform GM's & EMs to provide visibility on delivery and RUN activities.
  • Provide leadership to drive significant business or customer value, partnering with a broad range of senior stakeholders to build, develop, execute and optimise insights/analytics
  • Ensure that the project delivery and service management teams are effectively utilized
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to build a culture of service excellence
  • Support Engineering Managers/Chapter Leads to build, lead and inspire engaged teams of Engineers.
  • Leverage excellent level of technical domain knowledge relevant to the Chapter Area (eg. Software Engineering).
  • Implement, evolve and support consistent ways of working across the domain and CBA that align to industry standards.
  • Co-define with Engineering Practice Leads and implement strategies with respect to hiring, developing and retaining world class engineering talent and develop metrics to measure their execution.
  • Understand the value of and enable growth of diverse teams.
  • Establish excellent relationships demonstrating an enterprise mindset across the Engineering Community and with delivery stakeholders.
  • Support teams to allocate time for code review, refactoring and tech debt elimination over feature delivery.
