Job description
Primarily working with Cisco; Juniper and Arista to a lesser degree Provide Tier 3 level technical support and troubleshooting for Cisco network infrastructure, specializing in Routing and Switching and Viptela, in a Managed Service Provider environment Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to Routing and Switching and Viptela, working closely with Tier 2 engineers and escalating to Tier 4 engineers when necessary Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network architects, project managers, and vendors, to resolve critical network problems and deliver timely resolutions to clients Perform network monitoring and analysis to proactively identify and address potential performance or connectivity issues Assist in the implementation of network changes and configurations, adhering to best practices and change management processes Document all troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and configurations in the ticketing system and knowledge base Stay updated on the latest Cisco network technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to Routing and Switching and Viptela Provide guidance and support to Tier 2 engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting their professional development Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical network incidents as needed Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities ยท Performs On-call rotation with team members Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of 6 years of experience in supporting Cisco network infrastructure, with expertise in Routing and Switching and Viptela, preferably within a Managed Service Provider environment Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and wireless technologies, including Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus platforms Familiarity with networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANs Hands-on experience with Cisco Viptela SD-WAN, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting Proficiency in network virtualization technologies such as VXLAN and VLANs Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders Cisco certification such as CCNP (Routing and Switching), CCNP (Enterprise), and Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation (ENARSI) is required Cisco Certified DevNet Professional (DevNet Professional) and Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist - Enterprise Automation and Programmability are a plus
