The Position:

We are looking for Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in NetApp storage, VMware, and Cisco UCS technologies to join our dynamic team. If you are a technical expert with a passion for optimizing data center operations, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. As a Senior Systems Engineer at Crum and Forster, you will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced storage, virtualization, and server solutions utilizing NetApp, VMware, and Cisco UCS technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our data center environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain complex data center solutions. Configure and optimize NetApp storage arrays, VMware virtualization, and Cisco UCS server hardware to meet business requirements. Manage and monitor NetApp storage systems, including provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Implement data protection and disaster recovery strategies for storage resources. Administer VMware virtualization environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines. Manage Cisco UCS blade and rack servers, including firmware updates and hardware configurations. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues within the data center infrastructure. Implement best practices to enhance system performance and resource utilization. Enforce security policies and procedures to protect data center assets. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001 and NIST. Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for infrastructure-related issues. Collaborate with vendors and support teams to resolve complex problems. Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to enhance the overall team's capabilities. Monitor productions systems, respond to and troubleshoot incidents Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

What are we looking for?

Required skills.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent 8+ Years of system administration experience, including servers and application support, server virtualization with VMware, Storage and UCS support. Experience with Cisco UCS hardware and UCS Manager. VMware vSphere design, configuration, and optimization with 6.x and/or 7.x with backend SAN via NFS, iSCSI and/or Fiber Channel SANs or the new Hyper converged Infrastructure solution, vSAN VMWare troubleshooting, analyzing and problem solving with virtual systems, including supporting vMotion, HA events and EXSi host issues. Troubleshoot Windows 2016/2019/2022 Enterprise Server environment. Understanding of Internetworking with VLAN’s Physical to Virtual Migrations, and Upgrades Hands on experience in configuring NAS/SAN attached data store. Strong, working knowledge of Microsoft technologies - OS, DNS, AD, DHCP, DFS, FTP, SFTP,and GPO Strong proficiency in VMware VSphere Well-rounded knowledge of storage solutions (Netapp, EMC, Nimble) Well-rounded knowledge of hardware platforms primarily Cisco UCS infrastructure and HP servers Well-rounded knowledge of networking Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Excellent team player - proven ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically. Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines and handle aggressive mission critical deadlines.
