Company Description: Torte is a renowned establishment known for its commitment to culinary excellence. We are launching a new and exciting experiential dessert bar, opening soon in Gurgaon, dedicated to providing a unique and unforgettable dining experience. Our menu will feature a selection of exquisite desserts, fine-dining European savouries, artisanal pastries, premium coffee selections, and a unique bar and chef's table experience. We are looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our team and establish our dessert bar as a premier dining destination in Gurgaon.

Job Description: As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our experiential dessert bar. You will lead a team of talented professionals to deliver exceptional customer service, drive revenue growth, and ensure the highest standards of quality and excellence in all areas of operations.

Responsibilities: Pre-Opening Phase: Lead the development of the restaurant including concept development, beverage selection, menu planning and customer experiences. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless integration of the dine-in, bar and chef's table experiences with the overall dessert bar concept. Recruit, train, and supervise staff for the restaurant including kitchen team, mixologists, and servers.

Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including inventory management, procurement, and vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the restaurant operations. Handle employee questions and concerns, ensuring a positive work environment. Monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met and provide feedback accordingly. Conduct department meetings to communicate goals and expectations effectively. Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms. Communicate any issues regarding food quality and service levels to the Chef and other relevant staff. Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures. Monitor alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws. Manage to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. Open and close restaurant shifts as needed.

Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Create a welcoming and memorable experience for guests at the restaurant, ensuring exceptional service standards are met. Interact with guests to solicit feedback and make improvements to enhance the overall experience. Work closely with the front-of-house team to coordinate reservations and seating arrangements. Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met. Encourage employees to provide excellent customer service within guidelines. Handle guest problems and complaints efficiently. Strive to improve service performance and set a positive example for guest relations.

Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, including cost control measures and revenue optimization strategies. Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve financial targets. Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to drive revenue growth for the restaurant.

Conducting Human Resource Activities: Supervise ongoing training initiatives and use all available on-the-job training tools for employees. Communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position. Coach and counsel employees regarding performance on an ongoing basis.

Additional Responsibilities: Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Assist servers and hosts on the floor during meal periods and high-demand times. Recognize good quality products and presentations. Supervise daily shift operations. Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, businesses, and organizations to promote the brand. Participate in community events and initiatives to raise awareness and generate interest in the outlet's experiences. Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to create promotional campaigns and events.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a fine-dining setting with specific experience in managing bars. Proven track record of successful leadership, team management, and business development. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including bar management, menu planning, cost control, and quality assurance. Knowledge of local market trends and customer preferences. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
