Position Title:
Costing Engineer Qualification: B.E. /B.Tech Mech. Experience: 5-10 Years Industry Experience: Ideal candidate should be from gear manufacturing Industry. Job Purpose & Role: The job purpose of product costing is to accurately determine the costs associated with developing, producing, and launching a new product. This includes calculating direct costs like materials and labor, as well as indirect costs such as overhead and marketing expenses. This information helps businesses make informed decisions about pricing, profitability, and resource allocation for new product development. Key Activities & Expectations: Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing processes and materials used in automotive / Non-automotive product production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and production to gather relevant data for cost estimation. Develop and maintain cost estimation models and tools to accurately predict manufacturing costs for automotive products. Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or performance. Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate pricing to optimize procurement costs. Monitor and track actual manufacturing costs against estimated costs, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Provide cost-related insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes and optimize product profitability.
