Job Overview: Roambee is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Field Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between new device releases, firmware upgrades, and real-world application. The Field Engineer will be instrumental in testing new devices in the field, validating firmware, troubleshooting customer issues, providing onsite demonstrations and training, and conducting data analysis to resolve complaints.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Field Testing and Validation :
· Conduct thorough field tests with friendly customers and internal stakeholders to ensure device performance aligns with engineering test results.
· Validate firmware releases for both Roambee and OEM devices.
2. Onsite Customer Support:
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to device configuration or offline devices.
· Provide reassurance and solutions to ensure the Roambee solution is fully operational.
3. Demonstrations and Training:
· Conduct onsite demonstrations of Roambee solutions.
· Train customers in the effective use of Roambee solutions.
4. Data Analysis and Problem Resolution:
· Download and analyze historical data to identify and resolve customer complaints.
· Develop scripts for efficient data analysis.
5. Liaison and Coordination:
· Serve as a liaison between the engineering and revenue operations teams.
· Oversee the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for firmware upgrades and other technical processes.
6. Calibration and Quality Assurance:
· Coordinate with the calibration team and revenue operations for SOP adherence.
· Conduct spot checks and audits on devices shipped to customers or received from manufacturers.
7. Tool Development and Efficiency Improvement:
· Develop in-house tools to accelerate deployment, enhance debugging, and improve response times.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
· Responsible for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
9. Team Leadership and Growth:
· Display team management skills with the potential to hire and scale the team as the business grows.
10. Customer Relationship Management:
· Build and maintain confidence among customers, addressing and resolving dissatisfaction effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 4 to 6 years' experience.
· Proven experience in field engineering, particularly in technology or IoT sectors.
· Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to work independently and in team settings.
· Familiarity with data analysis and scripting.
· Willingness to travel extensively.
