As a Managing Director of Data Engineering, Risk Technology at JPMorgan Chase, you are a seasoned technologist and senior people leader at the firm. Leverage your deep domain knowledge and thoughtful leadership style to manage multiple technology-driven initiatives and teams, influence the organization, and provide expert guidance to the firm’s leaders.
Job responsibilities
- Lead multiple technical functions of data engineers that drive the most visible, complex, and critical databases whose impact spans departments, teams, and systems within the firm’s portfolio of strategic technological priorities
- Partner with fellow enterprise technology leaders to set the strategic direction for functions, products, programs, and services
- Motivate and inspire others in service of creating a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, collaboration, and respect that empowers the firm’s technologists
- Manage executive stakeholders across lines of business, removes team barriers, and secures resources to help teams succeed
- Champion the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Expert knowledge of multiple technical disciplines and technology strategies including emerging trends, research, and other technological advances
- Experience managing complex technology functions across multiple locations
- Experience influencing technology strategy and motivating teams across functions to achieve strategic goals
- Recognized thought leader and innovator with demonstrated industry experience
- Ability to inspire and motivate technologists and build a culture of innovation
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Experience working with large, globally diverse organisations
- Experience working in finance or another highly regulated industry
- Experience with large interconnected systems and grid compute platforms
- Experience with Market, Credit or Liquidity Risk functions
- Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Recent hands-on experience developing data platforms spanning both incremental, operational processing and analytic/reporting solutions.
