Job title : Jr. Assistant Manager - Applied Technology Business Line : Comfort & Insulation Work Location : Mumbai Entity : Evonik India Pvt. Ltd
Purpose of the position: The PU laboratory will be run and administrated under the internal and external procedures and regulations. Customer or innovation related lab work is carried out & reports are created. Tracking of KPI figures for key lab group tasks is conducted. Key Responsibilities: Responsible to assist the Regional Technical Manager to conduct chemical & physical laboratory tests & making qualitative & quantitative analysis of foam materials for troubleshooting, formulation development/ finetuning & New customer projects. Responsible for assigned lab projects from all categories (customer projects / innovation projects / positioning projects). Responsible for additive screening in the formulation to get desired results. Responsible to perform lab experiments (by hand mixing / machine) in the lab with different formulations, quality testing of foams to assess the product performance, raw material analysis & testing, identification of relevant test methods in alignment with customers (if applicable), if necessary, adjustment of methods within complex test setups to optimize results. Within the projects: production of different formulations to assess the product performance. Responsible to arrange lab tour for the customer visits. Responsible person for issue, review & update of instructions and procedures in alignment with global OU responsible persons; execution of all relevant Global Code of Conduct, ESHQ rules, EHS Audit, Internal & external Audit in the OU Lab. Documentation of lab work results in tables, reports or presentations to ensure proper choice of innovation products & product recommendation for customers. Managing the inventory of chemicals, consumables, and equipment. Ordering, monitoring and disposal activities of chemicals and scrap foams. Maintain the equipment and the work area in good operating conditions, doing preventive and corrective maintenance. Education, Certification and/or relevant experience required : Bachelor’s degree in chemistry / Polymer Science or Engineering in Chemical / Polymer Technology with 3-6 years of experience in similar profile. Additional skills and abilities required for this position : Highly innovative and willing to take initiative to tackle complex technical challenges. Able to apply good project management principles to internal & external development projects. Good communication skills and fluency in English. Other languages are an asset. Basic IT skills. Good Team player. Excellent interpersonal skills & adaptability. Analytical thinking & problem solving. Technical Knowledge : Demonstrated expertise in formulations, prototyping and application developments. Preferably candidate with flexible Polyurethane foam experience background. Proven track record of successfully running assigned project experiments in the lab.Job tags
