Job description
The SDE role covers technical program management, Process engineering and Quality engineering. This job focuses on manufacturing delivery of packaging parts which is designed to protect the device and facilitate a great user experience with regards to packaging. The role covers both New Products Introduction (NPI) phase and sustaining mass production. The coverage starts from raw material receipt, printing, structural forming, assembly and delivery from packaging supplier into device factory for application. Early engagement with the design team, sourcing managers and suppliers are expected for NPIs e.g. supplier selection, DFM. Refining supplier's Quality system management to match Customer's expectation will be required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop supplier management strategies with GSM, PE for Customer HW. Partner with Commodity managers and design engineers to source and qualify potential suppliers to support Customer hardware product packaging delivery to market.
- Manage and oversee new product development build quality in supplier factories to ensure good yield to support contract manufacturers pack-out activities. Collaborate with device assemblies incoming quality engineer and OQC correlation.
- Own packaging supplier manufacturing readiness for NPI (new product introduction) builds and overall quality matter. Engage in technical program management and manufacturing process engineering. Qualification of production lines.
- Collaborate with industrial designers and design engineers to sign golden sample, limit samples. To ensure yield rate with quality can support Customer product packaging shipment.
- Partner with packaging designers on Design-of-Experiments done in suppliers factories. Provide input from supplier quality perspective to design engineer to ensure packaging solutions deliver smoothly to mass production and maintain quality.
- Collaborate with designers on printing and post printing effect for effective messaging and product shelf impact.
- Assure technical support to supplier and train supplier to understand and comply to Customers specification
- Conduct periodic supplier quality review meetings to motivate and maintain quality level as defined. Join cross functional business review meetings and provide input from supplier quality perspective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Greater than 5 years of general Quality/Engineering experience.
- 3 years of working experience related to packaging.
- Requires a BS (or equivalent) in Package Engineering, Materials or Process Engineering, or related discipline.
- We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, good working knowledge of English, who will be a confident communicator and capable of providing appropriate leadership in cross functional teams.
- Proven ability to work well and collaborate with worldwide teams and across functional groups.
- Demonstrates vendor team leadership (people management) skills.
