Job Title: Technical Writer - Software Documentation
Location: Hyderabad

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly online user manuals and technical documentation for our software products. This role requires a deep understanding of software products, the ability to translate complex technical information into simple language for users, and a commitment to accuracy and excellence in documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and edit online user manuals, installation guides, help documents, and other technical documentation for software products.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and quality assurance teams to gather the necessary information for documentation.
- Create diagrams, charts, and screenshots to enhance the comprehension of the documentation.
- Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
- Regularly update and maintain documentation to reflect updates, changes, and improvements to the software.
- Collaborate with the customer support team to identify common user issues and update documentation accordingly to improve user experience.
- Utilise content management systems to publish and manage documentation.
- Participate in product development meetings to stay informed about product changes and updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer in the software industry or related field.
- Strong understanding of software development and product lifecycle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to understand and document complex technical concepts in a user-friendly manner.
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and content management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in creating video tutorials or interactive documentation.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for online documentation.
