Job description
The principal duties for this position include using IDEAS Dynamic Simulation Software to model various unit operations in the Feed and Biofuel industry. These Digital Twins will be used to optimize plant performance, validate P&ID and PLC/DCS logic, and create an Operator Training Simulator (OTS).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IDEAS is a leading dynamic simulation software used in Feed & Biofuel, Pulp & Paper, Oil Sands, Power, Mining & Minerals, and Chemical Industry verticals. IDEAS’ high-fidelity dynamic pressure-flow network capabilities are used to create a virtual plant environment. Your key responsibilities will include: Process Design and Engineering Validation ; Utilize IDEAS software to simulate and validate engineering designs at early stages, ensuring that any potential issues are identified and addressed efficiently. Control Strategy Development ; Collaborate with control engineering teams to integrate and test control logic within the simulation to ensure optimal plant operation. Design Concept Testing ; Use simulation outcomes to make informed decisions on design modifications or enhancements with minimal risk. DCS Logic Checkout and Validation ; Stage, test, and validate Distributed Control System (DCS) logic within the IDEAS environment to ensure control systems are error-free and fully functional before implementation. Operator Training and Simulation ; Develop and implement operator training simulators using IDEAS, providing a safe and effective environment for training plant operators on both normal and emergency procedures. Update and refine training modules based on evolving plant designs and operational strategies. Continuous Learning and Improvement ; Stay updated with the latest developments in simulation technology, particularly enhancements to the IDEAS software, to continuously improve simulation accuracy and effectiveness. Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization. TECHNICAL SKILLS (knowledge) B. Tech. / Dual Degree M. Tech. / M. Tech. in Technical Engineering Thorough understanding of advanced physics principles and engineering fundamentals Ability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and control logic Good problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Exposure to process simulation packages such as IDEAS / Aspen Plus / Hysys / Pro-II / Dynsim / SysCAD / METSIM, etc. will be an advantage Exposure to Feed & Biofuel Industry will be an advantage EXPERIENCE 3 years of relevant working experience Industrial Sector Ideally Feed & Biofuel.Job tags
