Job description

Authenticate™ is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. We provide identity verification and fraud prevention solutions to add trust and safety, mitigate risk, deter theft, stop loss, protect assets, and ensure the most well-informed decisions based on accurate, verifiable data. The Data Scientist will work alongside a Lead Software Architecture and Software engineer to implement statistical and machine learning solutions in commercial technology. In this role, you will contribute to the development and deployment of multi-modal machine learning models to analyze unstructured data and create structured data sets that can automate report generation.

As a Data Scientist at Authenticate™, you will lead the development of EthicAI by Authenticate™. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in utilizing Generative AI and Large Language Models to create solutions in smart policing. You will focus on object detection, automatic speech recognition, and fine-tuning Large Language Models. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to productionize ML models, analyze data, and generate valuable insights that will inform strategic decision-making and define the path forward for Authenticate™.

You must have strong analytical skills and be comfortable working with large datasets. You should also have experience with large-scale data sets and generative algorithms. The ability to effectively communicate and present complex data-driven concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial for this role.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Physics, or related quantitative field
• Demonstrated experience in building, training, and/or tuning deep neural networks (CNN, RNN, GNN, etc.). Prior experience with Generative AI, LLMs or foundational AI models is a plus
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and working with relational databases. Experience with distributed computing and cloud-based AI/ML platforms – preferably AWS SageMaker
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++ and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, HuggingFace, etc
• Optimization of LLMs: Implement and fine-tune foundational Large Language Models, focusing on performance and accuracy
• Evaluating Model Performance: Conduct rigorous evaluations of LLMs, assessing effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with business goals
• Integration of Advanced AI Technologies: Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to enhance the capabilities of Large Language Models
• Building prototypes to enable development of ML models in scalable, product-ready code
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment
