Job description

• Responsible for administration and application of best practices to monitoring solutions
• Perform technical research and analysis of data to identify or eliminate root cause potentials
• Leverage details of previous incidents in trend analysis to incorporate proactive monitoring practices
• Apply logic to correlate multiple events, determining impact to business and client base utilizing the CMDB
• Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs systems (network, telephony, servers, etc.) and peripherals as directed.
• Capable of dealing effectively with colleagues and business users working in a constantly evolving environment
• Be prepared to participate in hands-on moves, adds, and changes of infrastructure equipment
• Ability to work as part of a regional team across countries, cultures, and time-zones
• Troubleshooting and escalation of production incidents and issues using structured processes
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and when faced with adversity or time-sensitive issues
• Working with a trouble analysis tree to evaluate responses to root cause for consistency, integrity, and validity
• Creates and/or maintains documentation as required

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting a Server and infrastructure environment or a Technical Diploma/Degree in Information Technology and 3 years of experience in proactive support of a server and infrastructure environment
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows Operating Systems 2003, 2008 and 2012;
• MCSE 2003/2008 Required (Windows/Server vertical)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience administering

• Nagios monitoring application
• Any Ticketing tools

• Understanding of PowerShell scripting
• Understanding of trouble shooting principles and practices
• Understanding of trouble shooting the Microsoft Application Suite
• Understanding of Unix/Linux, Cloud technology
• Understanding of basic networking skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, corporate procedures/regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
