Purpose of Position:

Working as a key member of the Strategic Projects team, this position would provide support to Global RM and GDS RMS Leadership. The work includes:

• Risk Management has an RM Analytics work stream that is focused on robust business intelligence solutions to tell the data story efficiently and effectively in today’s big data world, facilitating process optimization and decision making. Large amounts of data are available to potentially highlight risks, hidden patterns, correlations, and other relevant insights. With today’s technology, we have the opportunity to explore the analysis of data and obtain answers and indicators.
• Supporting and managing strategic projects and service delivery responsibility for complex processes at GDS-RMS

This position will be ideal for a mature team player who likes to maintain daily virtual contact with a large number of people around the world. This position is designed for an experienced professional who likes to be challenged and wants to grow in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment working with modern tools.

Your key responsibilities

The role of a Manager, in the Global Risk Management function, will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the globe and with internal stakeholders. It will directly impact multiple KPIs within Risk Management and drive and support key initiatives. This role will support data analytics team to optimize existing processes and develop new solutions. Ability to find answers is limited only by one’s creativity in leveraging a vast array of techniques and tools.

This role will work virtually with teams across geographies with some opportunities to travel for in-person collaboration.

Technical Attributes

• Synthesize complex information into simple, high impact messages
• Leverage data analytics tools and techniques to identify solutions that improve efficiency and enable in-depth analysis. Ability to manage large amounts of data and adept at the creation of senior executive presentations
• Analyse and clearly present data and other information to identify significant trends or key issues
• Build relevant data insights that drive understanding of results, risk, and influence key business strategies and decisions
• Promote operational excellence by challenging current practices and providing feedback on opportunities to improve within own area of responsibility
• Develop analytical deliverables that play an integral role in the strategic planning process and directly support the achievement of RM priorities
• Perform systems analysis and design to define effective data relationships and integrations

• Ability to work with senior executives of a global brand company in a polished, professional manner with minimum guidance to identify and implement appropriate solutions
• Expert-level English communication skills (reading and writing) with the ability to summarize complex concepts into clear, concise language appropriate for senior stakeholders without the requirement of a further review by seniors
• Experience with handling team issues and providing appropriate solutions to maintain high team morale

• Exceptional project management skills with the ability to follow up on key individual deliverables, and send regular updates / reports on the project status; adept at managing multiple projects and delivering them within strict timelines

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Support and manage strategic, complex and adhoc projects GDS-RMS
• Supervise a small team of GDS-RMS staff who can be rapidly assigned to ad hoc projects at RM Executive or Regions
• Manage Strategic Project team, coordinates with various teams and assists Global RM stakeholders with service delivery

Education & Experience

• Essentials:
  • MBA with at least 10+ years of operations / administrative experience in a global corporate setting
  • Absolute fluency in spoken and written English; excellent listening comprehension skills
  • An analytical mindset with ability to work independently with well-developed problem-solving skills and understanding of processes
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint)
  • 2-3 years of experience in data analytics, data visualizations, data scripting languages, analytics AI/ML, and database integrations
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, other PowerApps and similar software

• Preferred:
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Passion for digitization and automation
  • Curiosity and willingness to try new things
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and never settle for the status quo
  • Experience with SQL, XML, R, Python, SAS, IBM Watson, or similar tools
  • Strong technical understanding of and experience in Risk Management function
