Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Intellectual Property Teams develop and maintain company patent applications, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, licensing and research agreements, publications and intellectual property aspects of contracts and agreements, as well as provide input on any other matters related to intellectual property law. Our Teams partner with internal/external departments to lead overall company parts/productions brand protection activities and help us continue to win in all markets.

Responsibilities:

• Support the innovation-related activities from EMEA aligned with global business strategies, such as managing invention disclosures and the related prosecution and grant procedures before the government IP offices in cooperation with the internal and external patent attorneys involved in supporting the EMEA region.
• Actively participate in the company's internal patent review committees.
• Perform prior art searches, and freedom-to-operate searches from time to time.
• Conduct IP trainings on a regular basis.
• Connect, engage, and communicate with others effectively at all levels and build strong relationships.
  

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in electro-mechanical or electrical engineering or physics.
• Patent agent credentials, with 5+ years post-qualification experience, preferably with in-house experience.
• Prior prosecution experience.
• Experience in the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent applications before the European Patent Office (EPO) and other foreign patent offices.
• Patent searching experience relating to validity analyses, clearance analyses, design-around options, and third party patent monitoring.
• Highly motivated and proactive, strategic thinking and business-affinity, able to set priorities and manage high workload, customer focused, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, open-minded.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as well as in a team environment.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, in English are required. In addition, good communication skills in German are desirable.
