Job Title: IT Manager
Job Description:
The IT Manager in school is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of the school's information technology systems. The role involves ensuring the seamless functioning of IT infrastructure, enhancing the learning experience through technology, and maintaining a secure and compliant digital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute the school's IT strategy aligned with educational objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies to support educational goals.
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and optimization of IT hardware and network devices.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of IT systems for educational activities.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security policies to protect digital assets and sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
Software and Applications:
- Manage deployment and maintenance of educational software and learning management systems.
- Collaborate with educators to implement technology solutions for enhanced learning.
User Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Conduct training programs to improve digital literacy skills.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
- Identify and prioritize IT investments aligned with educational objectives.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with academic departments to understand and address technology needs.
- Communicate IT policies and updates effectively to the school community.
Emergency Response and Business Continuity:
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for IT services.
- Establish protocols for data backup, system restoration, and recovery.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct regular assessments of IT infrastructure and services.
- Stay updated on educational technology advancements and propose enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in IT management, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and make strategic IT decisions.
- Proficiency in project management and vendor relations.
