Job description
Responsibilities
- Preparation of Project standards and specifications in the fields of welding, NDE, materials and corrosion control.
- Material selection and specification.
- Review of bids for fabricated equipment for compliance to Project materials and welding requirements.
- Review of Vendor and sub-contractor QC plans, welding and NDE procedures.
- Provides clear technical direction and decision making. Guides others with problem solving and technical queries.
- Vendor visits as required to resolve materials/fabrication issues.
Qualifications - Welding Engineer certificate from an internationally accepted bodies like AWS or equivalent is desirable
- Engineering Experience in the Process Plant industry, particularly LNG, Oil and Gas, refining, Petrochemical.
- Experience of FEED and EPC phases of Projects.
- Experience of vendor and sub-contractor surveillance through document review and surveillance visits.
- Knowledge of International Codes applicable to Process Plant fabrication (ASMEIX, ASME VIII, ASME B31.3).
- Knowledge on Various materials used in Process plants
- Knowledge and experience of weld inspection techniques, including radiography and advanced UT.
- Knowledge of the metallurgy of stainless steels (particularly for cryogenic applications), 9%Ni steel, low alloy Cr-Mo steels.
- Familiarity with ASME/ASTM Material Specifications and associated test requirements.
